Michael Byrne is a partner with Byrne & O’Neill. He has more than 30 years of experience litigating various construction related matters in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut State and Federal Courts as well as before arbitration panels and administrative tribunals. He also counsels and represents clients in negotiating and drafting construction contracts, corporate and partnership formation, mergers, and acquisitions, copyright issues, employment matters, lease negotiations and general business and risk management issues. Mr. Byrne earned his undergraduate degree at Boston University in 1979 and his law degree from St. John’s University Law School in 1982. He is admitted to the bars of the States of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, as well as federal courts in those states and the United States Supreme Court and arbitration with the American Arbitration Association and a former member of the ACEC Legal Affairs Committee, the ASFE Legal Counsel Forum, a professional affiliate of The American Institute of Architects, and a former co-chair of the professional liability committee of the New York State Bar Association. He is a mediator for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Byrne is author of the State-By-State Guide to Design and Construction Contracts and Claims (2nd Ed.) He is a frequent lecturer on topics of interest to the construction industry.
