Michael Byrne is a partner with Byrne & O’Neill. He has more than 25 years of experience litigating various construction related matters on behalf of design professionals in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut State and Federal Courts as well as before arbitration panels and various administrative tribunals. He also counsels and represents clients in negotiating and drafting construction contracts, copyright issues, employment matters, lease negotiations and general business and risk management issues. 

Mr. Byrne earned his undergraduate degree at Boston University in 1979 and he received his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University Law School in 1982. He is admitted to the bars of the States of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Mr. Byrne is a member of the ACEC Legal Affairs Committee, the ASFE Legal Counsel Forum, a professional affiliate with The American Institute of Architects, and co-chair for the professional liability committee of the New York State Bar Association. He is a mediator for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Byrne is author to State-By-State Guide to Design and Construction Contracts and Claims (2nd Ed.) He is a frequent lecturer on topics of interest to design professionals.
